This has been suggested before and Gaile replied that they won't do it because "it would make the events be un-event-like".
That is a bad reason though since those things are already un-event-like due to everyone already being totally familiar with them anyhow, so it would be better if they changed their minds and opened it all year anyways. But the boardwalk is what should be open all year most of all, moreso than Dragon Arena and Rollerbeetle should.

I dont think that the "un-event-like" rule really applies any more, because, honestly, events are dead. I mean, sometimes theres a rare group of friends having fun at the things, but other than that people show up for the free shit.

I'd love to see a PvP Island area for the party games like this and RBR. Even without tokens, it'd be a way to earn gamer points, and even without those... it'd be fun!
I think it'd be a great PvP add on permanently, along with snowball fights and costume brawl.

I dunno. I like the games, but aren't the games the main reason the people go to these events? If we've played it all to death throughout the year, why bother turning up to celebrate?

The way I see it, there are 2 possibilities.
a) AN introduces snow ball arena, dragon arena, costume brawl etc and I play it when I want and you don't play it if you don't.
b) AN does not introduce the above and I don't play when I want and you don't play even if you had the urge.
Gee, what's the best solution here?

It's more likely that if these event minigames became perm, people would burn out on them and then starting whining to Anet and complaining that there's no new content for them to play on special weekends.
The current set-up is perfectly fine, and it keeps people interested in these weekends, so I see no reason to change it.

What is perfectly fine? That people want to play [insert event arena here] but can't?

There are no words in which I can describe how much I hate pathetic oracles. People who think they know how others will react, what they'll do.
You don't know shit, just shut up and present facts and backed up arguments. Nobody cares about your lil assumptions.

As much as i love those mini games... i don't want them to lose that special event feel... and people would get bored of them eventually.
I do wish that Anet would have more gamer's weekends though. There's going to be a big break from Dragon Festival till Halloween when there won't be special events on... they should hold one or two gamers weekends to fill in the gaps.

signed, the game needs finally persistant ways to gain gamer points, its shti to be able only every x months to gain soem gamer points and after the event gettign forced to wait again like 3+ months, before you get the next chance to get some couple hundred points or so, when you work hard on in -.-
This just sucks.
The special thing about the events arwe the damn rewards, that you have the chance to win minipets or whatever, while those events are running, while you win beneath balthasar points and gamer points otherweise NOTHING then, thatx the single god damn point about minigames, which make those events special over minigames, that a perma playable.
Just with the fact, that players get then the chance to work on the gamer title, whenever they feel about it, that they want to work a bit further on it. Its at least also an account based title and also one, that requires a bit of skill, because you have to participate on PvP minigames >.> you have to beat other players to gain those freaking points ...
When will people get it, that we don't play here SOLO minigames, where no competition is behind, which would be a reason to notsign permanent minigames, because only then would be the gamer title nothing more, than just 1 another GRIND TITLE, that you can farm you after enough spend time.
But as long you get only gamer points by pvp minigames, it stays competitive, is no grind, you need slight skill and that alone is reason enough to make thsoe minigames persistant !!!

I dont care about the gamer points.
Infact I hope they take them away outside of weekends. I just want the game, not the rewards.

/Yawn at another predictable 'keep so and so all yr round' suggestion.
Theres a reason they are done only so often, to keep them popular.

i think they should add dragon arena and costume brawl more costume brawl then anything else mainly because there is not any type of closed skill arena (which is a good way to introduce new people into the game) and there is no in game way to get gamer points besides the events.
